My first entry, where do I start. Do I talk about myself or jump right in and post a story or two. You see, I love to write. Poetry, prose, short stories, letters, just about anything. I have tried journaling. Made several starts and kept them up for a while, but life seems to get in the way. I never seem to continue. Time is really what is the hardest to manage. I never seem to find the time. I need to set aside time each day and not let life get in the way.
Writing isn't my only love. There is also gardening and cooking. Did I learn to garden because I love to cook and wanted the freshest ingredients? Or am I now a decent cook because of the great produce we grow. No matter, I love them both and attack them with equal zeal.
I haven't mentioned my love of animals. We now have only house pets and few chickens. For forty years domestic animals (cows, sheep, goats, chickens, turkeys, ducks) were a passion of mine. When I became ill with lupus I had to give up the care of domestic animals.
I have known how to sew since I was 3 years old. My mother set me down beside her and taught me the running stitch. I have made everything from Drapes to baby clothes. For several years I ran a commisioned sewing business. In 1997 my sewing took a different turn. I found quilting. I wish I had found it it 1963. I would have never made another drape or baby outfit. It has been 11 years now and I still have so much to learn. It has become a passion of mine, which for now has been sidelined for gardening.
In my blog I will be talking of my day to day activites. It may be about gardening or cooking or sewing. If I find a hint that makes life easier for me, I will post it. If I find a recipe I consider devine, (maybe just good) I will post it.
Sometimes it will just be a story of a past memory or a poem of the moment.
I was going to post a poem I wrote, I found I can't copy and paste into this form. Either that or I just haven't found the correct place to go and get from.
A sneak peek into my garden. The Flower is a pink butterfly bush bloom, the insect is a Hummingbird moth.
